TEXAS MATTERS
Today, Texas would rank as the world’s 8th largest economy, if it were its own country, and our $2 trillion economy is unrivaled among the 50 states for its booming expansion.
We’re experiencing exponential population growth, too: from nine million in 1960 to 17 million in 1990 to 29 million in 2020. By 2050, over 54 million people are projected to make their home in Texas.
In addition to opportunity and prosperity, Texas’ transformation creates growing pains. As the saying goes, “new Texans bring their cars, but they don’t bring their roads.” For that matter, they don’t bring their power plants, water reservoirs, K-12 classrooms, Tier One universities or hospital beds, either.
To extend our state’s thriving, private sector–led prosperity, Texas leaders must remain committed to low taxation, sensible spending, fair regulations and conservative solutions for public safety, reliable energy, adequate water, flowing mobility, and a well-educated and healthy workforce.
Conservative Roundtable of Texas advances this pro-growth vision by discouraging harmful extremism and supporting solutions-oriented leaders in private enterprise and public service through our briefings, events, awards and outreach.
Texas matters—for our families, our nation and our future. We hope you’ll join us as we advance limited government and conservative solutions to build a better Texas.
